Call to Order: Garett N9HXR called the meeting to order at 7:32 pm CDT

Minutes: Garett N9HXR asked if there were corrections to the minutes. There were none
voiced. John KE9CAG made a motion to accept which was seconded by Don KC9ZMY. The
Ayes have it. It was brought up that being as there wasn’t a quorum at the last meeting, the
minutes of March 2, 2026 were never approved. Garett N9HXR read the minutes aloud then
asked for a motion to accept. Joshua KD9MXV made a motion which was seconded by
David KE9BPC. The Ayes have it
Officer’s reports:
President: Garett and David met up to take care of the banking business. Our account
only allows for one user account so Garett and David will share that info. They filed our
990EZ tax forms in April.
V/President: Nothing.
Trustee: Nothing.
Treasurer: $864.00 in account and David KE9BPC is working on spreadsheets for accounts
and such.
Secretary: Nothing.
Old Business: Roster has been updated, we now have twenty members at present, and
those who have been radio silent and not paid dues has been purged. We still need a
position on the Board filled. It must be a licensed person as we already have an unlicensed
person on the Board. Some of the ideas for presentations were brought up CPR whether
Certified or not. Antenna building Day, Doublet, OCFD, Whatever. Need Wire for these
ideas. Use of Baofeng radios, which Garett N9HXR offered to host. Skywarn spotter
training. October is Cyber Security Awareness month; Joshua will give presentation on
such. After Problems with PS1 changing Club affiliation standards, we will suspend in
person meetings there. Joe and Sam showed up tonight to find our normal space filled with
another group so that we couldn’t use that area. This is the second time we had to contend
with others talking and making noise while we were trying to have a meeting. The other
reason to suspend in person meetings there is the rising fuel prices. David KE9BPC in jest
suggested the members donate the money they would have spent in gas going to the
meeting to the repeater fund. Many of us thought it a good idea. There was already a
donation of $27.13 to the fund. Ryan is still looking into places for us to meet for POTA or
whatever days to get out and on the air.
New Business: Old and new may have become one this month. Garett N9HXR asked for a
motion to close Old and New Business. Joshua KD9MXV made a motion, seconded by Ryan
K1TLN. The Ayes have it.
Announcements: Scouts on the air will take place May 7 2026 7:20 to 8:20. Basic Storm
spotting Class May 7 2026 ARES. John KE9CAG talked about SKYWARN Class he took. 1 ½
hours for which you get a certificate. Mokena NAWS 5k walk run is looking for volunteers of
licensed hams for radio assistance. You just need hand talkie or will be loaned one. No
experience needed. June 21, 2026 contact Mark McGuire K9ACM or Mokena NAWS.
